Nelly's legal team is contesting his arrest at a Missouri casino, claiming he was singled out by an overly aggressive security guard. The rapper was arrested at a local casino on Wednesday morning in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

According to an arrest report released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nelly, whose birth name is Cornell Haynes, was arrested for possession of illegal substances. The report states that Nelly was found with a white crystal-like substance in his possession, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Nelly's attorney, Scott Rosenblum, said in a statement that the rapper is innocent and that the charges against him are "completely unfounded." Rosenblum said that Nelly was singled out by a security guard who had a personal vendetta against him.

"Nelly was harassed and unlawfully arrested by an overly aggressive security guard who had a personal vendetta against him," Rosenblum said. "The charges against Nelly are completely unfounded and we are confident that he will be exonerated."
